Good Morning! I hope your having a good weekend!
Someone noticed that on my review I was holding the chapstick with red nails and the last swatches I did was zoya rihana so just to clarify I changed my nails to:
Borghese Roma Scarlet
I love drugstores and I always browse the cosmetics isle so naturally I have seen the borghese varnish display plenty of times. The only reason I have not tried them is the price. They are $8 and .40 oz. Most drugstore polish retils for under $4.50 Thats a big difference from $8. In fact I might of said it in an earlier post but I dont think Ive spent over $5 on each polish. If I were to spend $8 I would probably spend it on OPI. I dont know something says that a salon brand should be higher than one from a drugstore.
When It came in the mail it looked like the perfect red. The shade is so classic and pretty I love the color. Its not original but thats okay it is a perfect red shimmer!
Now for the application:
The brush is SO WIDE! I was shocked its definitely my widest brush. Its almost like a little paddle. The good thing about the width is that it only took me one swipe to cover some of my nails. My larger nails were messy because of this brush. The formula was a little thick but this color was very pigmented and only needed two coats. To be honest for such an expensive drugstore polish the varnish looks pretty cheap. Im not a fan of the twist on the cap.
Heres the brush, it doesnt look as big as it does next to your nail!

This polish lasted three days without chipping. Thats okay by me because I change my polish so often.
If I didnt love the color I probably wouldnt have bought it. If Borghese has an outstanding shade I might purchase this brand again I just think that many of my cheaper polishes were easier to apply.
Now to the pictures:
Roma scarlet is a beautiful red with hints of gold in some angles.
What do you think?
very beautiful color on you! i'm not crazy about the brush either, definitely to big, lol!
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the brush, but I do love Borghese polishes.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty red!
ReplyDeletei like my reds with something more... i love this! :D
ReplyDeleteThe Borghese brush is definitely special but I don't mind it when the colors are good like they've been in the LE collections recently. The bottle could definitely use an update.
ReplyDeleteI'm really getting into reds lately and this one is definitely pretty!
ReplyDeleteI buy some from eBay too! They come out to be quite affordable.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty red! It almost matches your poppies... :)
